Travel notes: Milano.

Milan - is not just a city. It is the style of life. And I'm not talking only about fashion, it represents one of Italian most industrialized cities with a lot things to see and to do.

If you expect to see small streets with flowers on balconies and Vespa's on roads you will be disappointed by Milan. It's not about Italian past, it's all about its future. If you wanna find historcal stones, ruins, streets and houses - welcome to Naples or Rome. Milan is totally different. Thanks to its wide streets, it gives you an impression of the greatness and bigness of the city. Even though it's quite smaller than Rome, for example, you'll feel like you're in ancient version of New York. Obviously, Milan is not as sizeless as The Big Apple, but certainly can give you a lot of opportunities.

One of the things that surprised me the most in Milan is its cleanliness, even in the most distant parts of the city. You cannot always find it in the south. Instead, Milan looks just like everything is on its place. It feels like it follows its rigid rules and never violates them. Seems like Victorian England, huh?

Needless to mention people of Milan. Dressed so well, they're not walking, they're flying through the streets. You are probably thinking that I'm talking about all those fashionable it-girls, dressed in Chloè and Lanvin, but you're wrong. I'm talking about simple people with the sense of style, that's all.

My travel companions from Salerno used to repeate "Milan is like another world. It's like you're not in italy when you're here". Probably, I wasn't that shocked by it's greatness, cause I've seen big cities and I'm not so surprised, but to see Milan was a sort of discovery for me. I imagined it smaller. More ancient. More fancy. The reality is that it's a simple, big, clean city with the atmosphere which not everyone could belong to. You should have a milanentality - or the mentality of a Milan-citizen. You should run, get, keep your eyes open and take what you want. If you're not like this - who knows either it will change you or you wouldn't be able to bear with the life like this?...

Travel Notes: Positano

ENG: Positano - this is one of the few cities that looks better in real life than on postcards and saturated photographs. It seems that this city is never 'gray' and ordinary, and even in winter, it is full of colors, life and the sun shines brightly.

One of the most important things you should know about Positano - there are very (very very very!) many stairs. If you are going on vacation here, get ready to walk a lot, up and down. What amazes me in Italy, is the fact that even older people here are so full of energy that they are ready to overcome kilometers to city center on foot, they travel little by car, and the inhabitants of cities such as Amalfi or Positano, are simply heroes in my eyes! (maybe, this is why there're no gyms there...)

Despite the fact that at the center of a lot of tourists (be prepared to overcome the traffic jams on the streets!), just climbing on a pair of stairs, you find yourself in a more distant but no less beautiful part of Positano, where you can see the whole city from the high. There are not so many tourists and more relaxed atmosphere.

However, one thing to notice - it's a bit more expensive than Amalfi or Salerno.

Summing up, Positano is definetely the 'must-visit' place of the summer. From the first moment you'll fall in love with its beauty, nature, sun, colors and people!

IT: Positano - è una delle poche città che sembra meglio nella vita reale che su cartoline e fotografie saturi. Sembra che questa città non sia mai 'grigia' e ordinaria, e anche in inverno è piena di colori, dellala vita e il sole splende ogni giorno.

Una delle cose più importanti che dovete sapere su Positano - ci sono molte (ma molte molte molte!) scale. Se andate in vacanza qui, preparatevi a camminare tanto, su e giù. Quello che mi stupisce in Italia, è il fatto che anche le persone anziane sono così pieni di energia che sono pronti a superare chilometri per arrivare al centro della città a piedi, in generale essi viaggiano poco in auto, e gli abitanti di città come Amalfi o Positano, sono semplicemente eroi nei miei occhi! (forse, per questo non ci sono palestre li...)

Nonostante il fatto che al centro ci sono moltissimi turisti (preparatevi a superare il traffico sulle strade!), solo salendo su un paio di scale, ci si puo trovare in una zona più distante, ma non meno bella di Positano, dove si può vedere tutta la città dall'alto. Non ci sono così tanti turisti e l'atmosfera è più rilassata.

L'unica cosa da notare è che Poritana è un po' più cara rispetto ad Amalfi o Salerno.

Riassumendo, Positano è sicuramente un luogo 'da visitare' quest'estate. Dal primo momento vi innamorerete della sua bellezza, la natura, il sole, i colori e la gente!
